Piping Technology and Products, Inc. designed and manufactured six flexible pipe restraints for an oil refinery in Texas. These flexible pipe restraints, with the overall length ranging from 14″ to 30″, are designed to restrain movements of the piping system. They are manufactured by welding a 2 1/2″ SCH.80 galvanized casing pipe between 2×2 1/2″ flexible ball joints. Some also have a 2″ SCH. 80 pipe end welded to the swivel stem of the ball joints for length adjustments during installation.

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. designed and manufactured over fifty saddle supports for a utility company in Glent, Kentucky. These structural supports were built for 48, 26 and 14 field pipes. Their dimensions range from 50 to 75″ in height and 24 to 36 in width. The structural supports were manufactured from A-36 structural steel and were coated with a custom paint as per customer request.
Furnace Spring Assemblies up to 13,000 lbs. for a Chemical Refinery
Piping Technology and Products, Inc. designed and manufactured furnace spring assemblies for a chemical refinery in Saudi Arabia. Each pipe hanger assembly consists of a variable spring, rod, clevis, hex nuts, and pipe attachments. Unlike other variable springs which are designed to have bolted housings, these furnace springs are designed for spring coils with a customer specified spring rate installed in a welded housing. The sizes of these Fig. PTP-2 and Fig. PTP-4 ranged from 90-170, with a total travel of 1 1/4″ to 5″, and loads varying from 850 lbs to 13,300 lbs.
Furnace Spring Assemblies up to 13,000 lbs. for a Chemical Refinery
Prior to the final welding, trial fit-up and cycle test were performed to ensure unrestrained movement throughout the designed travel range. The spring assemblies were then calibrated to determine the exact spring rate prior to shipping.

Sweco Fab, Inc. designed and manufactured two 5,000 lb. air intake stacks and two 300 lb. dampers for an oil refinery in Baytown, Texas. The air intake stack is designed to keep debris from traveling to the duct. It was manufactured from A-36 carbon steel and measures at 11’x 5’x 8.’ The damper is designed to control ventilation in the ducts. This damper is manufactured from galvanized carbon steel and measures at 73.5″ I.S. x 20.5″ I.S. x 7.5″ wide.

PT&P designed and manufactured two hundred and thirty HD-2 hold down clamps to fit 6” to 8” pipes at a chemical refinery. These hold down clamps are used on pipe lines where there is a high temperature and great thermal movement requirements, they allow axial movement and restrain lateral movement at the same time. The clamps are fabricated from carbon steel with 3/32” PTFE, 25% glass filled, bonded to the radius. The plates are manufactured from three layers of materials; 3/32” PTFE, 25% glass filled, 1/2” thick fabric belting material and carbon steel.

PT&P designed and manufactured forty PTP 200- type “E” constant hanger assemblies with pipe sizes ranging from 36” to 62” for an oil refinery in Canada. These constant hanger assemblies are designed to support and allow vertical movement of the field pipe during thermal expansion. The constants have a load capacity of 2800 lbs. to 9200 lbs. and a 3”-7” travel range. To assure quality, standard load testing was performed on the constants prior to shipping. The assemblies’ components consist of a constant load hanger, a rod and a clamp. The constants are fabricated from ASTM A36 carbon steel and the rod and clamp were manufactured from ASTM A240, Gr. 304 stainless steel.

Two 240" x 12" x 1/2" Embed Plates for a Concrete Reinforcement Application
Two 240" x 12" x 1/2" Embed Plates for a Concrete Reinforcement Application
PT&P designed and manufactured two 240″ x 12″ x 1/2″ Embed Plates with 3/4″ diameter weld-stud projections to be used in a concrete reinforcement application. All components are fabricated out of carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish. The plates were shaped to form a 45″ x 90″ frame prior to shipment. The frames were braced with 2″ x 2″ x 1/4″ angles to ensure the frame maintained its structural shape prior to installation.

PT&P fabricated heavy-duty roller stands, 60” and 72” in diameter, to support large pipes in a cooling tower. The roller stands support loads up to 60,000 lbs. while allowing the pipe axial movement during temperature fluctuation. To reduce friction the rollers are fabricated out of machined carbon steel. The round bar and the stands are fabricated from A-36 carbon steel plate.

Sweco Fab, Inc. designed and manufactured a Flue Gas Duct, weighing over 66,000 lbs. and 18′-5 in length, for an oil refinery in Detroit, Michigan. The duct is designed to transport hot gases from the regenerator to the flue gas cooler. The walls are 1/2 thick with a high-density vibracast refractory lining. The rest of the unit was fabricated out of carbon steel SA-516-70 and is designed for a maximum pressure of 51 PSIG and maximum temperature of 1450°F.
Leak examinations where performed on the unit after fabrication, which included a10 percent x-ray test, a100 percent dye-pen test and a hydrotest at 77 PSIG.
